We are a community of everyday evangelizers

When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours. (Romans 1:12)

St. Paul says it all! Join us this Sunday at 4pm ET/3pm CT using this Zoom link and bring a friend!

Mission, Vision, and Values

Our Mission

  • To serve Christ and spread His love by sharing the power of prayer with all people.

Our Vision

  • For the future to be a place where all people feel loved, welcomed, and completely comfortable being who God created them to be.

Our Values

  1. Humility

  • We believe humility is a superpower. Humility makes us small, gives rise to fortitude, and allows us to do things that other people cannot do, like approach someone and ask to pray with them.

  • "If you are humble, nothing will touch you, neither praise, nor disgrace, because you know what you are."
    St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta

  • "You cannot learn humility from books; you learn it by accepting humiliations."
    St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta

  1. Prudence

  • Praying with others can be a scary and emotionally exhausting experience. It involves deep vulnerability. It is a self gift to another. We need prudence to understand how our efforts fit into God's greater plan.

  • [Prudence] is called auriga virtutum (the charioteer of the virtues); it guides the other virtues by setting rule and measure. It is prudence that immediately guides the judgment of conscience.
    Catechism of the Catholic Church

  1. Courage

  • We need courage to do difficult things. Praying with people is a difficult thing, whether that person is a best friend, family member, or total stranger. Only God can give us the courage to do things we feel incapable of doing.

Learn More

The goal of The Prayer Army is to spread the love of Christ through prayer with others, especially prayer with strangers. Prayer can be scary, but once you experience the rush of praying with someone new, someone who makes you uncomfortable, you won't forget it. And, if you're like me, you'll start to chase it. Here is a video of my first time praying with a stranger.

This is a community where you can learn to do something so revolutionary and so simple: to pray with another person. Praying with others makes us vulnerable, but in that vulnerability we get to experience Christ's love; when we pray with someone else, when we take that risk, we allow others to experience Christ's love as well. That is why this community is so important: it empowers us to do something we could never do on our own.

By joining our weekly Zoom call (Saturdays at 9am Central Time) we can all grow closer to Jesus and one another.

Meeting Log

Takeaways: 19 September 2021 - Link to meeting recording

  1. Humility is a crucial component to evangelization and to living life in God's love.

  2. We can build bonds with people of other faith communities by finding out what our faith shares in common with theirs. For example, Hindus believe in the True Presence just like Catholics. However, they believe God exists truly present in cows not in the Eucharist.

Takeaways: 12 September 2021

  1. Let's live unapologetically catholic. Say grace before meals at work. Pray your rosary as you walk from your car. Wear you patron saints medal around you neck. Do not be ashamed of your catholic heritage.

  2. Before we can evangelize, we need to pre-pre evangelize. That is we need to be talking to the Lord and bringing our intentions, questions, hopes, and fears to Him. We cannot give what we do not have. So let's make sure we ourselves are working on our relationship with the Lord.

  3. We also need to pre-evangelize. Let's love without an agenda. Do people know that they are loved? This doesn’t mean going around saying I love you to everyone, but rather it is to let them know by your actions.

  4. Lastly, Loving God and following his will is the most adventurous thing you can do!!
